He graduated from The College of New Jersey with a BS in elementary education and psychology. He also has a master’s degree from New Jersey City University in Educational Technology. John is a certified special education teacher, in addition to holding his supervisor certification. He is currently working on his principal certification at Rowan University. Prior to coming to Little Egg Harbor School District, he worked as a Supervisor of Curriculum and Instruction in Springfield Township School District. Since 2006, John has been working as an elementary school teacher with experience in the primary and intermediate grades. He has been providing professional development for teachers in the areas of: technology, Balanced Literacy, and Mathematical Practices. John has received training from Teachers College at Columbia University in the areas of Reader’s and Writer’s Workshop and enjoys assisting teachers implement these programs. Additionally, John has collaborated with university faculty to present and prepare in-service teachers with the skills necessary to effectively integrate technology across the curriculum, as well the importance of embracing Universal Design. Most recently, he partnered with Rider University to provide training to middle school teachers to implement the Next Generation Science Standards.
